The Give and Take of Mutual Relationships

Humans can be very self-centred, this is really highlighted within relationships whether with man or God. Yet relationships are or should be about reciprocity, mutual benefit or put another way give and take.

give and takeWe are OK when it comes to taking but not so much when it comes to giving. We find it much more easy to receive and very difficult to release.

I see this a lot in the online world, people are used to taking. There are free offers everywhere and we collect and hoard them, store them away but they hardly see the light of day if at all. They are like trophies or tools that we collect just in case we need them.

But when does taking stop being taking and start to become stealing (taking more than what was given/intended)? Continue reading The Give and Take of Mutual Relationships

A Meditation for Anxiety & Low Self-Worth using Psalm 27:1

This is a reflective meditation for emotional well-being particularly relating to reducing anxiety, insecurity and low self-worth.

I wrote this after meditating on Psalm 27:1 and it has been a huge blessing to me and others who I have spoken it over or read it to.

The meditation also includes scripture references which came to my mind as I was writing the words and is a great starting point for you to look deeper into the symbolism used within the meditation. Continue reading A Meditation for Anxiety & Low Self-Worth using Psalm 27:1

Does God get sad? … and more

I would like to share a few posts that have touched me recently, there is a brief summary of each one and a link to it too in case you want to read it.

  • Does God get sad?  Do you think there is anything at all that saddens God?  This post looks at something that we all do which might cause this to be so.
  • When the supernatural collides with the natural how does it make you feel?  I’m being challenged by the supernatural right now in my dreaming life and in my waking life, not bad stuff really but when the supernatural coincides with the natural it can sometimes cause your head to spin.  You can feel fear, anxiety, excitement, stress, joy, peace, humility, purpose, trust, faith and so much more .Have you had any recent close encounters with the supernatural which has caused you to reassess spiritual realities?

  • Widening the gap between illness and health.  Health and well-being enhancement is never far from my mind, partially as I’m in some pain from an osteopath appointment last night but partly because I Know how important health is especially after you’ve lost it.  I’ve been really encouraged to find people who are not allowing their illness/pain prevent them from otherwise being healthy which shows that no matter what state of health you are in you can still enhance it.
  • Last but not least, how has Yahushua (Yeshua/Jesus) changed your life?  Here is a great example of how love and grace are instruments of true transformation you might recognise this story :).

When chronic illness causes you to turn from God

There are certain things which act as a catalyst to turning away from God and towards something else and one BIG catalyst is chronic illness!  I recall an incident during a pain management workshop.  At the first meeting everyone introduced themselves saying why they were there and what they wanted to gain from the sessions, after introducing herself one lady said that she would do anything to get better even voodoo!  Nobody thought anything of it, some even laughed but I realised that the fact that she had said it out in the open meant that she  considered it as a viable option.  The truth is that this lady is not alone, many people who suffer with a chronic illness are literally willing to do almost anything to ease their pain and discomfort.  I know this because I have been here. Struck down, but not destroyed (part 1)

What does it mean to be ‘un’destroyed?

Well, when I thought about how to describe or define this term the following scripture popped up in my head which I think aptly explains what I mean.

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

(2 Corinthians 4:8-9 ESV)

These verses illustrate pain and courage, the apostles suffered affliction everywhere they turned and I can see this most clearly in the Book of ActsThey were thrown into jail, stoned, beaten, ridiculed and more but this never stopped them from pressing on in their work.  The reality of what they were facing could have distressed them and made them feel like they were being hemmed in but they didn’t allow the suffering they experienced to stifle their zeal.  They couldn’t fully comprehend why they were facing so much tribulation, their experiences left them feeling perplexed but even in the midst of mounting uncertainty they still had hope that there was a way out.  At times it seems that people went out of their way to hound them, shut them up and destroy them but even in the midst of this God never left them to the whims of their enemies, He never gave them up to destruction. Using God’s Word to overcome limiting beliefs

I made this video based on something that God spoke into my life relating to self-limiting beliefs that were effecting my ability to live the way He wanted me to. I’m sharing it here in the hope that it may bless someone who is currently dealing with limiting beliefs and negative thoughts.

Experiencing healing when we overcome darkness

journey from darkness into God's healing light

This is the third post on the revelation of light and healing or healing light that God has been opening up to me, you can find the first two posts by clicking on the links below:

  1. God is Light
  2. Light in the Bible

This post steps away from the light for us to begin to understand light as a contrast to darkness and how this effects our overall well-being, this post arose out of my own experiences and I believe that I am called to share what I am learning with others so that we can all learn to walk more

Overcoming darkness (part 1)

Not only do we have to battle the darkness present in this world but we also have to battle against the internal darkness, many Believers think and feel that they are OK and that they don’t need healing and/or deliverance but this is a lie, a manifestation of arrogance and pride that empowers Satan to hold us bound and captive.  The Bible tells us the following:

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

1 John 1: 8-10

Nevertheless, I believe that our focus should not be on the fact that we do sin but on the fact that we do have One who can deliver us from our inherent sinful nature.

Should Bible-believers stay away from the Olympics?

Olympic mascots

Olympic mascots

I’ve never really been one for watching sport or any type of competitive activity, to be frank I always feel sad for the loser and as I know that someone will inevitably lose I’d rather not go through the whole process just for the sake of ‘entertainment’.  But with only days away from the Olympic games in London it seems that even if those in the local community don’t have ‘sport’ on their mind they are thinking about all the entertainment, festivities and general hype that’s linked to it, suffice to say that there is something in the air, but is it good or bad?

I haven’t really been interested in the Olympics, partly because of what I mentioned in the opening paragraph but also because of a general desire and spiritual urge to stay away from something where thousands of people will be all rushing to cram themselves into a confined space.  I really don’t think it takes a rocket scientist to realise that the Olympics marks a great target for intentional or unintentional violence!  For the last few months there have been warnings from people within the community to stay away from or not travel within the area of the games, particularly on the underground, alongside this are the videos posted around the web with theories highlighting how and why the Olympics will be the greatest disaster to strike the UK.  Yes, I know that there is always the risk of scare-mongers and conspiracy theorists but with the increased expenditure on security and the extra measures that are being taken to secure the games such as drones, missiles in our parks and snipers on the roofs it makes me feel that people should really start asking themselves some serious questions such as what is it all for/about?, is it really worth itand is it really safe?

Most people I know have decided to either leave London during the games or not travel within the area, I have decided to restrict my movements as much as possible, but as both of my parents do live in East London this obviously makes it both difficult and concerning for me.  Many of my Christian/Believing friends and acquaintances  have also decided to stay away from the main Olympic zones.

I would like to share an experience with you which has made me think in another direction.  Last week as we drove by the Stadium I felt a tremendous pull and urge towards it, I felt myself thinking ‘ooooh, doesn’t it look so exciting?  Wouldn’t it be nice to be a part of that?’  This was quite strange for me, like I said I don’t watch sports but nevertheless I felt a pull/attraction and it seemed to me like a spiritual pull to get involved in some way maybe watch it on TV or something (in honesty I’ve never had an interest to watch the Olympics before so I was a bit baffled as to where this desire came from), I mentioned it to my husband and then just locked the thought away.

As most people know the Olympics will be mostly based in East London (Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney).  I grew up in this area and of late I have seen a dramatic change in the atmosphere or spirit being manifested, Hackney used to have a very bad reputation, but in my teenage years I always felt moderately safe coming home at night.  Travelling home from visiting family now is a much different experience, the night-life is extremely dark and almost paganistic, it feels like we are in Gotham City, it’s so bad that my husband and I have dubbed it S & G (short for Sodom and Gomorrah).  There are now so many clubs and bars on one particular stretch of road, and I have noticed strange symbols on many of them: pyramids, one eye (all seeing eye), suns and nautical symbols.  This is one of the roads that the Olympic torch was carried through this weekend.  I know to some people this may not seem like much, but for me it is, I see and feel the difference.

I only recently began to look into the Olympic games, its origins etc.  To be honest, I had never paid much attention before as I don’t watch sports but also because I believed it was just some ancient form of entertainment that had been continued on over time, yes that’s true but it’s also the incomplete story.

The Olympic games has it’s birth in idolatry, I am not an expert in this area at all but what I have read, what I have seen and what I have experienced has led me to see that there is definitely something spiritual behind the Olympic games.  Here are a few sites that I have found with information if you wish to find out more:

I’m sure you can find more information, I didn’t really need to go through swaths of information as even the pagan section of verified the link between the Olympics and idol worship!

I also found many people pointing towards ‘Zionists’ as being involved in the Olympic games, apparently if you juggle the Olympic logo about it spells Zion.  Well, considering that Zion is the nickname that God personally gave to His beloved city which carried His name and glory (Jerusalem – Yahrushalyim) I really don’t understand how any true Zionist (someone who believed in the prophesied biblical Messiah) would condone or dabble with the occult???  Of course there are false Zionists with a political focus and who do not care about God at all, alongside other ‘Zionists’ such as the Rastafari and Latter Day folks who have their own interpretation of what Zion means and who it refers to.

Why am I writing all of this today?  Well, a scripture has come to my mind of late:

Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal, and every mouth that has not kissed him.

1 Kings 19: 18

God will execute judgement on everyone who bows down to/worships a false god but will preserve those who reverently love and fear Him.  I don’t know what will happen during the next few months, but whether nothing or something one thing I do believe is that everyone who professes to believe in the words written in the Bible and claim the God of Israel as their own God should pay particular attention to the rise of demonic influences and idolatry within the world we live in whether it’s through the media or even in churches.  But in relation to this blog post, I would urge you to do your research on the Olympic games and make sure you make an informed decision about whether you want to take part in it or not, don’t just assume it’s OK or simply follow the crowd or even past behaviour but test every spirit.

Praying for peace and sound mind for you all.

Update 28/7/2012

The opening ceremony for the Olympics was held, I personally didn’t watch it but I have seen clips on Youtube where I saw clips of death, witches and a large baby amingst other things (maybe linked to sacrificial offerings)!!!  My question is, if the Olympics is so positive why all the dark symbolism?  You can watch the video clip for the opening ceremony here.

Also my husband found this official video, did you know that the Olympic torch is always lit in a Grecian temple dedicated to Herra, the wife of Zeus before  making its journey to the host nation?  I didn’t until, so this video has really just confirmed that the Olympics is soooooooo pagan, by YAH’s grace I will absolutely limit the amount of exposure I receive.  On a slightly different note, I do not think that the athletes who are involved are absolutely unaware of what the Olympics is about, for example there are some inside sources who have access to the Olympic village in the UK who have made it known that fornication is rife within the community, this seems like a throwback of what was happening in the pagan temples of old.

Free Christian well-being encouragement ebook

 Dearest Brother/Sister in Messiah,

I’m excited today to tell you that the new On the Road to Healing ebook is now available, it’s taken me a lot longer than I planned but it just goes to show that God is truly the Master planner not I, but… it is now finally completed and ready for download.

What is it all about?

Well, I know from personal experience that when you are dealing with chronic health problems or spiritual/psychological well-being concerns you can feel like you have no life and many times it’s so easy to give in to the fear that seems to be lurking in the shadows. There is only one thing that conquers fear and that is faith. But how do we acquire the faith to hold on, hope and believe in the midst of trials and troubles? And is faith really the key for us to unlock the blessings of life that God has promised for us?

This 110 page ebook is an amalgamation of the first and second editions of On the Road to Healing . The first edition is full of encouragement for those who have questions on the journey whilst the second focuses on the question of faith on our healing journey. Join everyday Believers just like you, who have contributed to this booklet by sharing their footsteps, their highs and lows, their triumphs, revelations and testimonies. You are bound to come out more encouraged, invigorated and equipped in your own walk by meeting with us on our road to healing.

Sharing my testimony of God’s goodness to me

Dear friends,

I know it’s been a while since I have properly been here but today I just wanted to come over and share this testimony with you all, the first three paragraphs are a short background and after that is the testimony.

You know that things have been tough for me both health wise and financially, I fell ill in 2008 due to excessive stress and work and left my job in 2009 partially as a consequence of this but would have probably stayed on if God had not asked me to leave.  I have worked sparadocially since then knowing that it is not God’s will for me ‘to work’ in the same field/role that I had been in.  In 2010 my hubby and I had our traditional wedding, a small intimate affair in my dad’s house and in the same year we lost our own home.  We moved ‘temporarily’ into his mother’s house as she was away for 6 months, when she returned hubby remained and I moved in with my dad.  This was the case until January this year.

In around February/March hubby began to experience strange symptoms (I won’t go into the details) but we were worried, he was on antibiotics for a bit, went to A & E and even was referred to a specialist.  Slowly, hubby began to hear God asking him to “come out of her” ie. the slave system of the work he had been doing.  He was working so many hours, trying to be a man of excellence and integrity but the more he gave never seemed to be enough, in fact his co-workers became jealous of his success and started to plot against him.  After taking nearly a month off due to illness, he finally accepted that God wanted him to leave his place of employ and start his own company.  So he did.

My husabnd’s last pay package came in, we used it to set up the company and live.  We felt so sure that the business would be successful from start as many of his previous clients on hearing that he had left asked him to contact them, but every door we had previously thought would lead us to a fertile plane had a no entry sign on.  It seemed that financially we were in a tight spot, we only had £30 left to go on food and electricity.  We had two choices in front of us:

  1. Try and do something to bring in money e.g. work, beg or borrow.
  2. Trust in God in what He was teaching us and showing and see whether He really is El Shaddai

We decided to do the latter.

The testimony Continue reading Sharing my testimony of God’s goodness to me
