There are certain things which act as a catalyst to turning away from God and towards something else and one BIG catalyst is chronic illness! I recall an incident during a pain management workshop. At the first meeting everyone introduced themselves saying why they were there and what they wanted to gain from the sessions, after introducing herself one lady said that she would do anything to get better even voodoo! Nobody thought anything of it, some even laughed but I realised that the fact that she had said it out in the open meant that she considered it as a viable option. The truth is that this lady is not alone, many people who suffer with a chronic illness are literally willing to do almost anything to ease their pain and discomfort. I know this because I have been here. Continue reading When chronic illness causes you to turn from God
And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
We all struggle with changing our behaviour, our thoughts and our beliefs so that they match up with the Word of God, it’s our human nature. Human beings tend to behave and think in ways which they feel has the most benefit for them, our behaviours and thoughts are easily modified and swayed by others particularly if it is the reigning norm. God calls us sheep and indeed we are, we have a tendency to follow others maybe because we think that they know better/more than us or maybe because we don’t want to be seen as being odd. Human beings like to fit in, we like to belong and feel a part of something bigger than us, it makes us feel more comfortable and secure. But whether we change our thoughts, beliefs or behaviours because we think that someone else knows better than us or because we want to fit in, we are still being influenced by outside forces, psychologists call this behaviour conformity. I made this video based on something that God spoke into my life relating to self-limiting beliefs that were effecting my ability to live the way He wanted me to. I’m sharing it here in the hope that it may bless someone who is currently dealing with limiting beliefs and negative thoughts.
NB: There are 4 parts
Health, healing, and wholeness – I find it strange how different Christians react to these words. For some these words cause a positive reaction to others negative, but whatever our stance we can not argue the fact that the Bible speaks about health, healing and wholeness. But what is healing and where does it come from?
I know that there are still many people who visit this blog searching to understand why they suffer from Cramp Fasciculation Syndrome a neurological immune disorder where the immune system attacks the nervous system causing pain, cramping and spasming in the muscles surrounding the peripheral nerves. It’s a horrible illness, but as I sat and looked over the stats for the last few days and saw that there didn’t seem to be a day when someone didn’t end up on my blog because of this disorder I realised something that I AM getting better! This is what sparked off this post, I wanted to share my experiences of what I feel is healing me. Continue reading Where does healing come from?
