Me tooHello dear brother/sister in Christ, thank you for taking time to learn about this website.  My name is Florence, I hope that you will stay with me while I explain the reason for this blog in the next few lines.

I was a teacher for over 5 years, I finished my PGCE in 2005 and started teaching in a great sixth form college in the same year.  In 2008, I became very ill, not so ill that it was terminal but ill enough for me to contemplate suicide.  It was a very dark and lonely time for me but I thank God that He blessed me with my husband Eke who was and is a great support to me.

During that time I learnt many things (see my free book), and it enabled me to form a deeper and closer relationship with God, which I now know wouldn’t have been possible without going through the trial of illness.  Even though I am not fully healed now, I believe that God will heal me and that I have already received healing in the spiritual realm through Yahushua HaMashiach (Jesus Christ).

I am still in the process of learning and the biggest discovery or revelation I have made to date is that I am the Vessel of God, and it is because of and through this revelation my desire is to learn to treat my body which is the temple of God with the respect and love that I deserve.  (Please read more about this revelation in my article on Shalom Candles).

This blog will focus on my experiences of trying to treat my self in accordance with God’s will, as a Holy temple and a vessel set aside for His own good use.  There is a particular emphasis on health and well-being because of my own personal circumstances so I hope that this blog will be of benefit to other people struggling with ill-health.

I also have a ministry website called On the Road to Healing which focuses on the spiritual and psychological manifestations of healing and wholeness.  Join me there as I share how God is renewing my mind and re-creating my heart and tips and truths to help you on your own road to healing.

    1. Hi Layla,

thank you for your kind words they mean a lot coming from someone who has experienced so much and writes so well. I visited your site yesterday and it’s just as great as the original, we have a shared passion for music too, I often sing to God and pray singing letting the Holy Spirit speak as it chooses and music helps me to heal in so many ways.

I hope you are well and will visit your blog again soon.

God Bless you and keep shining.

      1. Thank you Ronnie and I am really enjoying all your great postings on faith. May God continue to keep and bless you each and every day and may His love and joy in you abound and overflow. In Yeshua’s name Amen.

  1. Florence,

I feel that God helps His people through bad and Good times. As you know I have Ms and I am being treated for a brain tumor. I look at these problems as a time to become closer to God and have become closer. I truly feel that your experience has not only brought you closer to God but has allowed you to search out the healing of God ‘s hand. I love your blog.

  2. Hi Florence – thank you for visiting my blog yesterday. I really appreciate it and am glad I came back to visit with you. I am sure that your blog is going to be a great testimony to those who need to here how they too are God’s vessels. Great post
    God bless

  3. Florence, I am touched by your faith through your healing journey. I’ve been on one myself and look forward to hearing more from your heart. Press on~

    1. Hi Laura,

thanks so much for the encouragement. I would also love for you to share the gems that the Lord has taught you along your journey, it is always a great comfort to share and learn from one another. 🙂

      Many Blessings

  4. The darkest times will “prove” our faith. We will either draw close to YHWH…trusting Him even when we don’t understand. Or, we will walk away…missing out on the biggest blessing of all.

It is nice to meet you.

    1. Hi Colleen,

      it’s great isn’t it, I first found it via Erin’s blog (

You are on the right path, what you need to do next is simply copy the html code generated in the post and paste it into a text widget and then place in your sidebar. You may have to resize the player’s width and height to fit the widget area, once you have done this simply delete the post.

      1. Hi Colleen, that’s great! I can’t fully recall but it’s one of the settings in your mixpod playlist. Just go through all your settings and account options, it should be there. I am using my phone to access the internet but when I get home next week will have a look. How are you?

  5. Hey Florence,
I did finally figure it out! Thanks for your help! Things are getting quite busy as we sell into the holiday season. Our sons and families are coming home and I am so excited about the opportunity to be able to share and love on them. My heart soars when my kids are all under the same roof! The Lord is also showing me his mighty hand in our women’s ministry at our church, I find myself ministering to the women in our fellowship as well as teaching in our women’s bible study series. He is truly blessing me in every way! I think I finally get that my life is not all about me, that what the Lord gives has to be given out! How are you doing? Blessings, Colleen

    1. Hi Colleen, I am so happy to share in your joy. Having a blog has blessed me by connecting me to my spiritual family in so many places. I don’t always get a chance to drop by but I really appreciate your words and ministry.

You sound really busy though, please make sure that you find time to rest.

I am doing ok, just trying to listen, learn and follow where God is leading me.

  6. Hi Florence –
Thank you for the encouraging comment you left on my blog and for sharing the link to your iceberg post. I definitely feel like God has been showing me things about myself that I didn’t know were there (and I always thought I knew myself really well 😉 ). I’m grateful that He knows me better than I know myself.

It was amazing to read your profile and how it must warm God’s heart to see you embracing the path He’s laid out for you.

    Love in Christ,

  7. Hi Florence it is nice to meet you and encouraging to know you value that you are a vessel of the Lord as the Scriptures tell us this is not just our earthly bodies which will wear out but it is every part of us our heart, our soul, our spirit as well.

I’m a cracked vessel but like you are very thankful God is the Super Glue and His Glue never comes unstuck.

    Christian Love Anne.

  8. Hello Florence…thank you for following my blog at Faith1st Ministry. I hope it has and will continue to be a major blessing in your life. May God richly bless you as you continue to write and blog. Please continue with us on this journey and remember to have Faith 1st. — Sebastian

  9. Hi, Sister Florence–I’ve just met you through Deb’s Blog! I’m just praising God for you, for all that He’s bringing you through one day at a time. I can feel the quiet joy and peace, here at your blog–your serenity because you know you belong to HIM. Vessel of God–such a wonderful blog name. My prayer today is that He’ll pour me out, as well–thanks for being here, and I’m including you in my daily prayers for more healing. God bless you abundantly today, and always.

    1. Thank you dear Caddo, you don’t know how much I needed to hear your words, today has been a bad heart day for me so far so I’m so grateful and thankful for God teaching out through time, space and matter to use you to show me His love. Thank you for letting Him use you to ease the pain of this broken heart.

Ps. I love reading your blog.

  10. Thank you for sharing. Also, I wanted to post my reply to you here, instead of just on the person’s blog where you left me a note: Vessel of God, Thanks for your note … basically, I’ve summarized my journey, including my breakthroughs with business and ministry relationships, in a couple of articles on my main business blog. Here is the link:

I pray that my story blesses you. Thanks so much for asking. Also, feel free to connect with me on Facebook, if you’d like, on the Your Sisters In Survival fan page.

  11. Hi Florence,

I thought of you, and just wanted to check in to see how you were doing. I certainly hope you are feeling well. Have a blessed weekend! 🙂

    1. Hi Paulette, thank God for bringing me to remembrance in your heart. I am doing ok, good days and bad but the Lord is dealing with my workaholic nature at the moment, this is a main key behind my physical breakdown and something that needs to be dealt with before any lasting healing takes place. How are you dear one? Did you get the email I sent out about the encouragement booklet for free via kindle, it is a part of the ministry. Please let me know how you are doing, I have to admit that I get a bit overwhelmed by all the blogs I follow, too many posts to keep up with and so much whirling around in my head that I want to say, not enough of me to go around. Please remember me in prayer xxx

  12. What a precious soul you are! I thank God for you and your willingness to be a blessing to others.

    God bless you always,

    1. Thank you Dulcinea for your kind words, I am sorry it has taken so long to reply – I really thought I had!!! Anyway, I visited your blog a little while back and was so impressed by your story and how much you shared. i have followed your blog today so hope to receive any new posts in the future and will read them from time to time as I don’t always get much chance to visit all the blogs that I follow.

      Shalom in Messiah

  13. I am so glad that you found God and Jesus now emanates a sweet perfume from your “vessel. I love what you wrote in your about and can relate to it in certain ways. I will be following you to see what the Lord is doing through you. God bless.

  14. Thank you for encouraging me and my blog ‘Booklovers1’. After having read your blog, despite being absent for too long, I feel encouraged and refreshed. Just the name of your blog inspires me to live for God, allowing HIM to use and build me for HIS purpose. I am not my own. And, for this I am nominating you for the ‘Very Inspiring Blogger Award’, and you will find more information here at my blog ~ God bless xox

Please leave a reply, I would love to hear what you think
